John D-C is one of the 15 artists on show at the first Sydney This is Not a Toy Scene exhibition. John has been busily working in the studio and will be launching a NEW action figure to rival some of your favourite 80's muscle-bound heroes. To keep up with his progress check out his instagram. Over the weekend there will be sculpting, moulding and painting workshops, love music, a BBQ and more.

KIDS CREATIVE COLOURING STATION
Sweets Workshop's own Emma Simmons is thrilled to have her entry Marrickville Pork Roll selected to exhibit under the theme Small works in the big city at the Chrissie Cotter Gallery. Emma's petite original illustration in ink and watercolour will be on display with 80 other local artists from opening night and on Sunday 10 November, 11am to 4pm, Wednesday 13 November to Saturday 16 November.

Sweets Workshop will be hosting a kids creative, colouring station at Marrickville Festival. Kids and parents can drop in to meet two brand new super heroes called "The Marrickvilles". While they're at the station kids can do some colouring-in, activities and create their own marvelous Marrickville superhero Masks.

EmmaJane Illustration (Sweets Workshop's Emma Simmons) will be taking her illustrations of some of Sydney's Favourite Inner West haunts and memories to the next Makers & Shakers Market on Saturday 12th Oct at Marrickville Town Hall. She'll be launching a new art print and bringing along some originals.

SOLO EXHIBITION BY ANDREA SMITH

Croydon Based Illustrator and Sweets Workshop favorite Andrea Smith will be hosting a solo exhibition of original collage artworks and prints at Sweets Workshop. The exhibition opening will coincide with the Summer Hill Neighbourhood Feast. Andrea will be giving an Artist Talk about her work and processes in the Creative Village at the Festival at 11.15am.

Inner West Music Fest is on again! We hope to see you on Sunday September 15 at Pratten Park Bowlo, Ashfield for a fun day of live music with yummy food, market stalls, licensed bar, kids activities and much more! It’s a great way to spend Sunday arvo.
Sweets Workshop shop will be holding a market stall and bringing along some of our favourite local curios! We hope to see you there.

At Sweets Workshop we have an affinity for zines and self produced publications, John D-C will be taking his zines and artwork and tabling a stall at the MCA Zine Fair.
The MCA Zine Fair is an annual festival featuring a stellar line-up of zinesters, distros, independent presses, and artists. Showcasing zines, small press, prints and comics from across the country, the fair celebrates the alternative, experimental and emerging.
